Was super excited to have been invited
to exhibit at Lowrise Projects in Richmond - a wonderfully intimate,
light-filled, converted warehouse space recently set up by the lovely
Melanie Flynn, former gallery manager at Karen Woodbury Gallery, and
her partner Jeremy Smart. They are also the folk behind Artsphere, which
provides a very fine website service for artists.
In this instance, a suite of drawings adopt
a distinctive illustrative style to depict quirky scenarios that continue
an interest re how space is performed - a lingering motive that has
driven projects to date.
The fabulous Malcolm Turner wrote some
sweet little texts (accessing dodgey internet whilst galavanting around
the far reaches of Europe collecting sensational animation for next
year's festival!) to accompany the show, they were available in a nifty
pocket size zine/booklet. Very very noice indeedy!

The bloggy-sphere is a place where I explore
wide-ranging influences and works of interest across disciplines - from
artists who are well known in their chosen fields, to those whom seamlessly
cross perceived boundaries (illustrating, crafting, object making, exhibiting,
publishing, designing), and the wonderful folk who are doing their own
thing and finding an appreciative audience online.
